Summer is considered pitta season in Ayurveda. This means it can increase a sense of heat and sharpness in your body and mind. This cooling Ayurvedic drink should help sooth the from the heat.

Ayurveda Recipe:

A cool drink from Ayurveda to help with summer heat.  Take a large glass pitcher or mason jar.  Fill with fresh water and some mint, cucumber or lemon.  Cover the top or seal with a lid.  Place in the dirt in a shaded area of your yard overnight.  It's best in the moonlight.  The next morning bring into the house and enjoy all day as your cool concoction.  NO ICE! Ice slows down the metabolism and digestion.  Iced drinks also trigger the body to increase internal body heat.

Ayurveda Ingredients:

  • Water

  • Mint

  • Cucumber or lemon
